PM4Onco-Personalized Medicine for Oncology

PM4Onco aims to create a permanent infrastructure to integrate and exchange data from clinical and biomedical research and thus lay the foundation for establishing personalized medicine in cancer treatment. To do this, we combine the experience and preliminary work of all four consortia of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) and the oncological centers of excellence in Germany. Data provided via PM4Onco are processed in a suitable form to support decisions in molecular tumor boards. This concept and the associated infrastructure will be rolled out to all 23 centers involved. This creates better access to targeted therapies based on the precise analysis of genetic changes in tumors in the respective disease stage, and the treatment and prognosis of tumor diseases are improved. PM4Onco creates an alliance between the MII, the oncological centers of excellence, the clinical cancer registries, young scientists, patients and citizens to strengthen personalized medicine in cancer therapy.
