In cooperation with the ear, nose and throat clinic of the University Hospital in Münster, digitization is going to be advanced. The individual research stations in the clinic for the areas of rhinology, oncology and otology are to be connected by a central contact point. To do this, two essential steps are important. On the one hand, the collection of data is standardized through the use of electronic recording software (MoPat). This ensures that the information gets to the right place in the right format. A positive side effect is that manual transfer of the questionnaires to the database is no longer necessary. Second, a relational database is integrated. This offers the possibility to combine information collected at different stations and at different times. The aim of the overall project is on the one hand to minimize the documentation effort for the medical staff, but at the same time to generate a larger amount of standardized research data in order to improve therapy decisions.
