In cooperation with the IT division of the University Hospital of Münster, the MeDIC currently operates the local endpoint of the TriNetX network. This offers German university hospitals access to real-world data (RWD) that is tailored to their specific research needs. RWD have enormous potential as they provide important insights into diseases and can therefore contribute to improving the quality of life of patients. Procurement of RWD from different health care facilities presents many challenges, including data harmonization and high data protection requirements.
